Nice job man!

A couple glitches and bug to figure out.
One glitch that was excruciatingly annoying, was the friction and momentum (I don't do physics, so I'm not sure which one).
In just the third level, I bounced the ball but it just missed the orange ball. Then, I had to wait around for 10 minutes for it to stop, and it didn't. It just kept moving. really. fucking. slowly.
Eventually after waiting around for 5 more minutes, I just had to restart the whole game, which was a bit disappointing. I mean, maybe at least a menu button.
I thought that on my second try, it would work.

But after I restarted it, I couldn't get past the third level, and I even got the ball to the orange ball! I don't know. It may just be my computer, but no matter what I did, even if I won, it wouldn't let me past level three :(

However, pretty simple yet stylish graphics, and good layout.

Xeptic responds:

You can reset a level by pressing the space key, as it says in both the tutorial and the game description, you don't have to wait for it to stop because it simply doesn't. Another thing, when you bounce against the walls too many times (the maximum number of bounces is displayed in the upper-right) you have to reset the level. This is because people would otherwise just throw the ball really fast and it would hit all the checkpoints regardless of their aiming. I thought this was going to be confusing...

AB-SO-FUCKING-BRILLIANT.

Wow. Just... wow.
Well, a little more then wow. THIS GAME WAS AWESOME!

A thing I'm finding with a lot of flash adventure games these days, is they either have great gameplay, fantastic characters, or really good art.
Yours, however, didn't. It had all three. In spadefuls.

It is so bloody hard to write a review on this, because its just so amazing, yet... hard to describe in words.
Loved the art, well done Ed. Quite different to your usual style, but easily recognizable as yours. Glaiel, fantastic gameplay. Loved it. I don't know if both of you decided on the storyline and gameplay together, but they were both pulled off brilliantly. If there was a downside to this game, it would probably be... I dunno. I guess it was a bit confusing at first, and the space travel did take a while, but it kinda just added to the experience.

The main thing I loved about this though, was the overall mood. Although a bit sombre and depressing, it was really well excecuted, and you could really immerse yourself in it. Another annoying thing about games today, is they think that to be amazing, they need to be in your face. Larger than life bosses, crazy characters, and intense music. This had none of that. Soft pastel colours and an eerie soundtrack really made this game something special, and gives a wonderful experiance to anyone who plays it.

The poem/intro at the start made me chuckle, but was also really well done. Just out of interest, who wrote that? Ed?
Anyway, chracters; fantastic. The main thing I loved about them, is their simplicity. Grayscale, with no detail, but still seemed like they had more depth than most characters you see in videogames today.

I loved the music in this as well. The ambience and eerieness to the music gave the game a unique and strange feeling to it, but it added to the whole atmosphere of the game.

Levels were awesome and original. You really had to think for some, and others were just a matter of... well, swinging. I guess if you do happen to make a sequel, maybe ad in another element of gameplay, because constantly swinging can be a bit tiresome after a while.

Overall, an amazing, one of a kind gaming experience. Thanks so much Edmund and Tyler for creating this game, seriously. Loved it, and looking forward to more.

Great animation! PETA suck!

Whoa, this was really well done! Not a fan of the PETA propaganda everywhere, but the animation and art in this was really well done, and the layouts were easy to use.
I'm rating this, not because of all the PETA-loving going on, which annoyed the hell outta me, but because of the actual game.

Gameplay was fun, but not too challenging. I like how you included all sorts of games, from reaction time, to quick mouse action. As I said before, well done on the art. The layouts outs were very simple and clean, which made the whole game easy to navigate though.

I will say this though; PETA are bullshit. They kill more animals than they save.
After playing this game, it makes me want to eat a nice, big, juicy steak, covered in barbeque sauce, and wrapped in bacon. Oh man, I LOVE my meat, and nobody can take that away. You flash just made me hungrier :D

FunkWaxPuppie responds:

Hahahaa.. so we can agree to disagree on our favourite meals (I sympathise, I used to enjoy eating meat once upon a time too), but I appreciate the thoughtful review of the game. Cheers! :)

Sweeeet...

Awesome game.

The art in this game, was kickass, and majorly trippy.
Ninjas with chainsaws, giant snakes, and even retarded bunnies! How awesomely original!
There was some REALLY innovative gameplay here, that I've never even seen before in a game! For instance, the keyboard level, and all the switches. Thats what I loved about this game.

However, the reason I only gave this game an "8", is because it does get a bit tedious and annoying in parts. For example, the levels with all the bouncing balls pounding the ground, and somehow you're meant to make it across. Took me forever :/ Maybe I'm just bad at it.

But all in all, it's a brilliant game, with awesome and creative visuals and really fun gameplay.

5'd.

THAT. WAS. EPIC.

I'm pretty sure that's the only was to describe this game.
Everything: brilliant. Loved it.
Okay, so there was a couple flaws.
The grammar... not so good. Maybe next time, get someone to run over the script a couple times. There wasn't a saving feature, which was a bit annoying, and some of the art (backgrounds, small details) could have been more detailed, and a bit... less dull.

But thats just nitpicking, the game as a whole was AWESOME! The battle scenes were fun and refreshing each time, unlike most RPG's, where you have to fight like a bazillion bosses.
The animation was SUPERB, I LOVED the core attack graphics, and battle cutscenes. The art was awesome and character design great, but as I said above, maybe needed more detail in some parts. And the music was also a perfect fit. And the story just brought the whole thing as a whole together SO well. But again, what really stood out in this, was the animation.

I absolutely LOVED it, PLEASE make another one.

Original, awesome, and downright clever

This has to be, one of the best flash games around.

With all the hype, and people saying how good it is, being number 7... I was expecting some kinda original-ish run of the mill RPG or something.

What I got, was a not so much a gaming experience, but a game that punched society right in the face, and had every right to.
Very clever one liners and game endings that not only made me LOL, but made me think. But it's not only the script of the game that got me. It is so clear that quite a lot of effort has been put into this game. The graphics are really good (especially the awesome "Supernatural claims" cutscene), and most the of the gameplay is fun.

But this is definitely not a game to be judged on gameplay, because it is soooo much more. Not only have you proved that games don't have to be about gameplay OR graphics, you've shown that gaming can convey a strong political message(s), and can be used as another medium for getting an important message(s) out there.

Thanks so much, and make more!
100/10 (I wish).

Nutcasenightmare responds:

Thank you for having the perceptiveness not to judge a game simply of how much of a 'game' it is! (as opposed to some OTHER reviewers I could mention)

So, I'm glad you enjoyed it, and even found that it contradicted your expectations! Well, there IS one thing you can expect: more.

Thank you again!

Awesome man!

Yeah, this was actually lots of fun!

I must admit, it does get a bit repetitive after a while, but the change of gravity keeps it interesting. It was a bit slow, but maybe if you expanded on the idea, it could become something really fantastic and huge.

Great game, awesome graphics, and very smooth.
5'ed.

Whoa.

A couple bugs, but nontheless, a fucking awesome game.
Very hard, but very cool. Nice concept, and some very clever obstacles to overcome.

I enjoyed it. Well done.

O. M. F. G. :DDDD

You guys are my fucking heroes, I LOVE you!
I've been looking for a decent platformer tutorial for AGES!!!
AND FINALLY I'VE FOUND IT!!!
Anyway, great tutorial. Easy to read (in most bits, I'm a bit of an AS n00b), very helpful, and an easy to navigate through layout.

Only one MAJOR problem. The text isn't copy pastable!
I'd probably still be willing to write it all out, but half the time its unreadable :(
Is it okay if I PM you, asking for the script? That would be awesome.

And also, another major issue, is there a way to control how many enemies can be spawned, how to kill enemies, enemies on a horizontal surface, and also enemies dying? I may have missed it, but I'd need that, if I was to go through with my game.

Thanks a bunch guys, just not enough info for an entire game though :/

Well..

Its really basic, but its actually quite enjoyable! Hope it doesn't get blammed man!

LockLips responds:

IT DIDN'T GET BLAMMED. :D
Thanks.

Sup, my names Mitch, I like animating and making flash games. At the moment I've put my current projects on hold, to start planning out my new platformer RPG, and to do some collaboration projects. If you need help with an art related problem, just ask!
