Amazing. So much potential in this flash.

But... sorry Duch. I did have a couple issues with this flash.
First off, there were some anatomical issues. Sometimes the heads looked a bit too large, or you tried to fit body parts into the camera shot that just weren't meant to be there. Also, sometimes a hand would face the wrong way (the thumbs up), or their bodies just seemed to flat. There were also a couple perspective issues, but no really major ones.

However, there were lots of good points about this flash, that outweigh the problems. Your animation skills are amazing, and inspiring. Not so much your art skills, but your animation skills. Your sense of movement and camera shots is fantastic, I love the way you sped along the desert and through the tunnel.
Your camera shots and angles keep the film interesting, and I really like how you use them. Not a single boring camera shot in the whole film :D
And one thing that is so rare with flash nowadays, is marketing. You market your flash, so, fucking, well. Seriously.
Great music, AWESOME intro, simple yet effective credits and an easy to use menu.

Amazing Duchednier, not only have you pulled off a fantastic animation and series to boot, but you've left me wanting more. You ending hooked me, and I can't wait to see the next one in the series, which I'm sure won't disappoint :P

Love your work, brilliant flash, just work on some of the issues I've talked about. I can't wait to see your next addition to the series, you're a bloody inspiration.

RiverJordan responds:

Yeah, a lot of the reviews have been about anatomy, that's why i'm buying a book on poses and stuff and practicing drawing people in my sketchbook more and more :P I'll definetly make Chapter IV much more anatomically correct ^_^

Thanks for the great review!

You are an fbf god!

Absolutely awesome.
You've turned a story, into a masterpiece. Seriously man, I don't know anyone else who can do frame by frame animation like you can.

If you were trying to show expression and personality in this flash, you've definitely achieved that. You've achieved something here that you can't achieve with tweens; fluid human (or anthropomorphic as the case may be) movement and emotion. Although you still haven't exactly got the fluid part down pat, you've done a brilliant job, and I love your work. You have also managed to pull off an amazing 3D perspective, which is REALLY hard to do.

The only reason I gave this a nine, is because it wasn't overly entertaining. It took a while to get somewhere, and it was also a little... slow in parts. But overall it made me chuckle, and I liked the minimalistic effect.

You're an inspiration to me, annd I'm sure an inspiration to all budding animators out there.
Sorry for the long winded speech, but seriously, love your work.

The only reason I gave this a nine,

TheBoogley responds:

I like the look of this new character you've got on your userpage, looks a bit shifty. Is it you?

Well done!

Wow!
Can't say I was expecting much, but I was pleasantly suprised!

You have a great sense of animation, and your animation skills could take you far if you practice a bit more. Well done on that aspect.

However... your drawing. You are quite a skilled artist, but on further inspection of your close up shots, and character designs, things could have gone a bit smoother. But hey, they looked fantastic nontheless!

Another thing, is you really need to "sell" this a bit better. Your choice of icon gives nothing away, not even a face. For all the viewer knows, it could be random shapes. A customized preloader would have been nicer, and even a menu. If you have trouble with these things, I would be more than happy to help out (And don't see this as me begging for a collaborative effort, I mean just some help with use of buttons and making a preloader etc. got too much on my plate already).

Anyway, you have loads of potential, and can't wait to see more. Next time, maybe create a menu and preloader, and polish it up a bit, even if this was a pilot episode.

Cesarean-Pizza responds:

wow. thanks. seeing this reminds me why i love animation

this was done a long time ago. i was teaching myself all of that stuff at the time. i remember just figuring out a scene selection menu. now that knowledge is lost. but dont worry, it will come back easily. i may call on you for some preloader help.

ok then, i seem to be quite impatient. im working on it though. ive learned that i should slow down. that will lead to greater attention to detail.

ttyl

Hmmm...

Well, definitely could improve.
But, you did a good job. Good sound syncing, and some good bits, for example the ninja bomb throwing, was done quite well.
However, too many flaws.
There should be a stopallsounds(); script at the end of the movie, incase people want to replay it without the song screwing up.
Most of the animation was choppy. When someone falls down, they aren't standing up one second, and down the next. Take into account poses and anatomy, i.e. the back would be bent, arms out.
The backgrounds need some details. They're there for the whole thing, they should look at least a little pretty! this can be helped with gradient backgrounds, and a little bit of shading.

But I liked the ending, last frame was good, and title was good.

I realize your still learning, and this is a good start. My first few animations were atrocious, I'll never let them see the light of day again.

Anyway, next time probably include a menu, customize your preloader, and make the animation fluid. Good try man!

Lare responds:

Thanks! That's what I call constuctive critism. When I made this animation, I had no idea how to use scripts, so that's why music sounds pretty bad. And animation is lousy just because I was too lazy when I drew it. I didn't have a tablet, so that's why it looks so unfinished. But I'm very glad there something you liked about it.

And thanks again for the review!

don't hurt me.

Well... i'm officially scared.
I don't think there was one second of that movie, where I wasn't rocking back and forth on my chair, sucking my thumb crying.

...

I LOVED IT MAKE MORE.

Lochie responds:

Haha, I'm sorry that you are scared like that. D:
I might make another. :D

Wicked action.

I can see this would have been fun to animate. A pain, but fun. Wicked animation, great flash dude. Well done.

FatRat66 responds:

You got that right, I had an awesomely fun time working on it, and coming up with funny ways to kill my sticks. It was a hard slog at times too, but the fun more than makes up for it with this kinda stuff :D

LOL

Hehe, awesome dude. Can't wait to see your finished part of the collab. Worked out a transition yet?

WritersBlock responds:

No, I've got to talk to adman and britishmoose, although I think a couple of people would like to see the loveblimp crash into something in britishmoose's part. It shouldn't be too hard to figure out...

Happy valentine's!

Great job, all of you!

This was really great, well done! Love the one at the start, the awesome pixel train, and of course, morrow days weird purple face that eats itself. But my favourite was boogleys "I'm going to eat my face!" Great animation and voice acting made it stand out, fantastic work. Everyone in this collab should be congratulated. WELL DONE ALL OF YOU!

TheBoogley responds:

Cheers! You are indeed the new challenger to the toxic avenger!

Sup, my names Mitch, I like animating and making flash games. At the moment I've put my current projects on hold, to start planning out my new platformer RPG, and to do some collaboration projects. If you need help with an art related problem, just ask!
